ROADRUNNER RECORDS To Launch Venture Label

November 26, 2007

Roadrunner Records today announced an exclusive worldwide agreement with music industry veteran Tom Lipsky to launch a to-be-named joint venture label. The primary goal of the label will involve new recordings by established classic and heritage rock artists to augment the already formidable Roadrunner artist roster. Roadrunner Records President Jonas Nachsin comments on the union, "Tom has had a distinguished career connecting with artists that have had a lasting impact on music culture. Pairing the world's premier rock label with his vision is a winning combination."

Under the terms of the agreement, worldwide physical and digital distribution, marketing and licensing of all releases will run through Roadrunner's existing infrastructure, with Lipsky working closely on all aspects of his artists. "My time will be dedicated primarily to the artists, supporting their creative activities and designing strategies to further their relationship with the consumer," Lipsky explains, "which is made possible by the resources that exist within Roadrunner. This is an opportunity that I am very excited about and I look forward to bringing important artists into this partnership."

Most recently CEO & President of Sanctuary Records Group North America, Lipsky is best known for his success in delivering gold- and platinum RIAA-certified album and DVD awards to music legends including NEIL YOUNG, BLACK SABBATH, KISS, IRON MAIDEN, MEGADETH, LYNYRD SKYNYRD, THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND, JOHNNY CASH, STYX, WIDESPREAD PANIC, BOB MARLEY, REO SPEEDWAGON and BAD COMPANY. Prior to his tenure at Sanctuary, Lipsky was one of the founders and President of Raleigh, NC-based CMC International Records, widely recognized as the premier frontline label dedicated exclusively to the marketing and further development of established artists.

Lipsky takes pride in making notable impact on artists' careers that others may underestimate. "Having the opportunity to be involved in the continuing careers of the great artists I have worked with is a privilege," states Lipsky. "They are the cornerstone of our industry. These artists have earned the loyalty of multiple generations of fans. Their continuing relevance, creative validity and economic value are without question."

Lipsky will continue to be based in Raleigh, NC, while visiting New York and other outposts often.
